Birthday, Blending brushes, Christmas cheer dies, TGIF challenges

TGIF challenge 328

Hello everyone! I just had to join in this week’s colour challenge for tgif challenges! This colour combo is just gorgeous and I really enjoyed it, so much so I just kept going and going….!!

I started with a base card of coastal cabana, then a layer of black. For my white layer I used my blending brush to give a subtle hint of coastal cabana colour for my background, along with a few spatters of black. (Use your stampin’ write marker brush end and flick against the lid-great little effect!) Then I used some of the stitched stars (one of the best die sets ever!) Some of these I embossed with the new ‘star crossed’ folder. As you know I’m a sucker for anything stars! 🀩

For the ‘happy’ I took the Christmas cheer dies and layered up white on coastal cabana, then just snipped the detail parts off, leaving just the border part. Love love love these dies, so versatile and I am using them a lot!

I heat embossed white on black for my ‘birthday’ from A Grand Kid stamp set. The bow I used white bakers twine, along with just one strand of black bakers twine- may sound strange, but I just wanted a thin piece of black! Another little trick, to get more from your bakers twine, you can separate the strands!! So cool!

The little black stars are from the new mini catalogue, called cute stars and are adhesive backed- good to go straight from the packπŸ‘

Well I’m so pleased with this card and as I say I loved the colour combination so I couldn’t stop!

I hope you like what I’ve created, and I hope I’ve inspired you to have a go! You can see everyone’s creations by heading over to TGIF challenges

Thanks for joining me today, love Jane x
