Blending brushes, Free as a Bird

Free as a bird masking technique

Hello everyone. For this card I used the masking technique. If you haven’t done it already, give it a go!

I had a layer of basic white, and then took a piece of card, and ripped the edges. Tape it down, use washi tape if you have it. Then take your blending brush and ink up the card either side of the masked piece. When you take away the card, you are left with a white ‘strip’ and you can then stamp an image. I chose the birds from Free as a bird stamp set, and coloured with my blends.

I have a YouTube tutorial if you’d like to have a watch- I’d really appreciate it! Watch my tutorial here

Hope I’ve inspired you to have a go at this technique!

Love Jane x
