November class-by-post projects….Merry Christmas card with a secret gift card holder, snowflake card, and a snowman card

Hey everyone! I do hope you are well. For my November class-by-post projects, we made a gorgeous card which inside had a little gift card holder. We made a cheery snowman card, and we made a beautiful snowflake card.

For the snowman card, I started with a base of Crumb cake, and then added some layers. I used the ‘Tis the season’ DSP for my first layer- you just need to cut 1/4″ smaller than your base. The second layer was merry merlot cardstock, again cut 1/4″ smaller. The final layer was whisper white, again cut 1/4″ smaller. This gives a lovely 1/8″ border around each layer. I do have a YouTube video on this card if you’d like to have a look https://youtu.be/4P4sOwPDPRE

The next card is the snowflake card, which I made using the notecards and envelopes. A layer of the ‘snowflake splendor’ DSP, cut 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ , which I then embossed with the ‘Winter snow’embossing folder. I ran a ribbon across, I used the jade gingham from ‘flowers for every season’ combo pack, and secured to the back with my Stampin seal, then glued this layer to my card. I cut one of the stitched nested labels dies from whisper white, and then you could either stamp directly onto this, or layer it up with your sentiment. I added a bow using the pool party sheer ribbon, and also used the bakers twine from the ‘flowers for every season’ combo pack. I decided I didn’t want the blue part of the twine, so just pulled that away, so I was left with just the white and silver parts. I love how this makes your ribbon go further!! I also have a YouTube video for this card https://youtu.be/wfjb1ouwGJ4

The last project is more detailed. It is a really elegant card, with the hidden surprise of the gift card (or money) wallet inside. Start with a base card 5×7″. Then cut two layers of DSP, I used the stunning ‘Brightly gleaming’ DSP. Cut 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″. Adhere one to the front, and one to the inside. Then cut a layer of black, cut 3 5/8″ x 5 5/8″, then a layer of whisper white, cut 3 3/4″ x 5 3/4″, and adhere to the black. I then stamped my holly image from ‘Joyful Holly’ stamp set, which I coloured using my Stampin blends. I just stamped my outside, but you can stamp your inside too! Then glue the inside layer centrally onto your DSP.

I then added some ribbon, (which I coloured using my Stampin blends) and stapled to the front black and white layer. Then glue this onto the front of my card. I added a bow using glue dots. I just feel that finished it off nicely. For the sentiment, I stamped and punched out using my 2″ circle punch. Then you could adhere that to a punched out 2 1/4″ circle. I decided to not use that, but to grab my new blending brushes (LOVE) and use my night of navy ink to create a soft background. Then I popped my sentiment up with dimensionals. I do have a YouTube video on this card too….I would really appreciate you taking the time to have a look, and please do subscribe if you’d like to see more of my videos. Thanks so much 💙 https://youtu.be/elszlKnNQs4

Thanks so much for popping by💙

Love Jane x
