GDP, Little Twinkle

My first entry to the Global Design Project! #GDP152

Hey everyone! So, today I am trying something new (eek!), and I’m entering the Global Design Project ‘Case the designer’ challenge! It’s my first time doing anything like this so wish me luck!

Here is the original card, created by Janneke de Jong.

The original card was created by Janneke de Jong from the Netherlands. Then you get to ‘take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colours, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own’.

I loved the stitched shapes oval piece over the purple ‘background’ so I knew I wanted to use that design element. I decided to use my favourite set at the moment, ‘Little Twinkle’, and silver heat embossed the sentiment onto my whisper white oval shape. I decided to turn the card portrait, as the sentiment looked better that way.

I then decided to create a little background for the white oval (as per the original), and heat embossed silver stars behind where the oval would be. I took my pool party ink and used a dauber to add some subtle colour amongst the silver stars. I used the twine from the ‘Little Twinkle’ suite, and a little silver sequin trim just behind the bottom right of my oval to add some sparkle, before attaching the oval on to my card with dimensionals.  Then, as a final touch I added some more stars using glimmer paper, silver foil, vellum and sequins.

I’m really pleased with how it turned out!

Well I do hope you like it, and I’ve inspired you to have a go yourself….
